Variations

Our second assignment for Photo I required us to take photos of three different subjects from various perspectives. I chose my son Charlie, my fiancé (also Charlie), and a Radio Flyer. I had a little trouble with this assignment, because I felt like I wasn't able to produce the ideas that I had in my head. I hope that makes sense! I did enjoy it though. And of course, I love taking photos of my family. But, I am hoping to start taking more photos of strangers or acquaintances in the future. I definitely want to photograph some new faces. I just need to work up the courage to start asking people!

This entire course, along with Digital Materials & Processes, has started pushing me out of my comfort zone in general.
I was a stay at home mom for almost two years, and I started to feel really burnt out. Now that I am attending classes, creating photographs, turning in projects and talking with my professors & classmates, I am feeling much more confident in myself and my abilities.

After our visit with Lisa from Canon USA today, I am also feeling more confident about choosing a career path related to art. When I chose Photographic Imaging to be my major, I certainly was nervous. Sometimes I'd think, "Maybe I am not talented or creative enough. Maybe nobody will ever want to pay me for my work.". But in just this past month, I have realized there are so many career paths that I could take, that I had never even considered before. The idea that I don't know what I will be good at yet is motivating me to explore as much about photography as I possibly can.
